Gawd. . I am loathe to say this Dan , but, Sears® and Wal - Mart have some good stuff; I jus' picked up a Fuji digital camera for $99 @ Sears® and as for bi noculars?.. .umm.. get 'em on line? 10 x 50 is 'bout all you can hold steady in your hands w\o a tri pod. Bushnell® makes good binoculars. ..heck even Radio Shack® has a pair of binoculars that you can snap √ pictures through. lol. Japanese optics are sharper. .German; warmer. Other wise. .umm. . .for star gazing. .there are a million possibilites. I use a Macintosh® (like what's on Mars right now in the Rovers; they use the old Powerbook chip set IBM RS6000 stuff: 68030). I track stuff using a program called Stellarium . . .it's done in Linux I think.
